Does Proactive Acne Cream Really Work For Everyone?

Written by PAC on October 15, 2008 – 1:37 pm -

Proactive Acne Cream has become one of the best selling acne treatments in the United States and across the world. With endorsement from celebrities like Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Vanessa Williams, it has become the acne treatment of choice for the celebrity A list, but where it differs from other skincare treatments with celebrity endorsement, is that its history is firmly rooted in medical science.

Proactive acne cream was first formulated by 2 qualified doctors; in 1995 Dr’s Kathy Fields and Katie Rodan, both Stanford University trained dermatologists, realized that there was a strong need to improve on the acne treatments that were available and set out to develop a complete system for treating acne. Their system is called Proactiv because the whole ethos behind the treatment is based on treating any existing acne and than continuing to treat the healthy skin after the acne has gone - proactive treatment.

Proactive treatment succeeds by working on the entire face rather than just targeting isolated spots or areas of acne. The treatment is a combination of steps which uses several different ingredients to first treat the acne and then prevent further breakouts. The proactive acne solution uses a 3-step approach; the first step is a mild renewing cleanser, the second is a revitalizing toner, and finally a repairing lotion.

The most difficult aspect of reading reviews about Proactive acne cream or any other acne treatment is you will only get another persons experience of how it worked for them. Generally speaking this means you will read lots of reviews stating how good the cream is and well it worked for the reviewer - it’s very difficult to be objective about an acne treatment however well it worked, if it worked great the review will be wonderful, if it didn’t work well the review will be bad. The important thing to understand is that it can only be an opinion.

Will Proactive work for everyone reading this? No.

Will it work for the majority of people reading this? Yes, but to varying degrees.

You see no medication will work the same for everyone, and Proactive is no different. It will work well for most people, but the only way to find out how well it will work for you is to try it for yourself. If it doesn’t work, send the bottles back and take advantage of their money back guarantee - what have you got to lose?

Acne Blackhead Treatment – What Will Work And What Won’t

Written by PAC on October 4, 2008 – 7:32 am -

One of the worst aspects of acne for many people is blackheads, and finding an effective solution or blackhead treatment is difficult to say the least. There are so many products on the market that ‘claim’ to get rid of your blackheads, that knowing where to start your search for a blackhead treatment that really works can be very frustrating.

You can get blackheads or comedones as they’re known to the medical profession, just about anywhere you can get acne, and the temptation to squeeze them out is as strong as your urge to squeeze any of your acne spots. The same advice holds true for blackheads as it does for most things in life, and that is, try to resist temptation!

What Blackhead Treatments Work And What Don’t?

Blackhead extractors are small tools that look like large sewing needles with a hole in one end; the idea is to place the hole over the blackhead and use pressure to persuade the blackhead to pop out – Do they work? On a few occasions yes, but for the majority of time they will just damage and irritate your skin. If you do decide to buy one, make sure you buy a good quality tool (even the good quality tools are not expensive), as most of the tools for sale today have been poorly made out in the far east and are useless.

If you are tempted to buy one of the vacuum devices on the market that will ’suck out’ your blackheads…..DON’T - they are a total waste of money and will not work.

I wish I could give you the name of a tool, a cream or a gel that will magically treat your blackheads, but I can’t - one doesn’t exist. I know you will probably try the things I’ve said don’t work, that’s understandable, we’re human and when we get desperate for a solution to a problem, we are prepared to try anything. Once you have tried them and you are ready, read on for the only practical advice I can give you.

You probably already have the cream you need to treat blackheads in your medicines cabinet already. Any acne medication with Benzoyl Peroxide in it will do (proactive acne cream is one of them), if you don’t have any, it’s not too expensive - you can get it from a pharmacy and just plain old Benzoyl Peroxide will do for treating blackheads.

Cleanse your skin as normal, and massage a small quantity of Benzoyl Peroxide in to your blackheads. Do this twice a day and you will see your blackheads start to go over time; I can’t give you a better time frame than that because we’re all different and we respond to treatments differently.

It’s not rocket science I know, but it is the best blackhead treatment we have available to us at the moment. You can try all the rest, but when they fail, try to remember this advice.

I’m also starting to hear some really good things about aloe vera vitamins, I don’t have enough information to write a whole post on this yet, but I will write more on this as and when I have the information.

Proactive Acne Cream Free Trial

Written by PAC on June 18, 2008 – 4:27 pm -

Most medication, including Proactive acne cream, bought or prescribed in the Western world is wasted. I say that not because it is dispensed for the wrong conditions, but because we, the patients, either don’t take the medication at all or we only part-complete the course and end up throwing the rest away.

So the proactive acne cream free trial makes good business sense for the guys at Proactive…….It means they are sharing the risk with you.

Now I probably don’t need to tell you that medicines are expensive - Proactive Acne treatment for example is as much as $60 a shot, so…..

…Why would we end up wasting more drugs than we use?

There are a number of reasons that a patient would take the time, and spend the money, to go and see his/her doctor and then not take their medicine as prescribed, it is a very complicated area and is much investigated by researchers - the main reason seems to be tied up in the doctor/patient relationship.

What is more interesting for us to look at today is why we never seem to finish a course of medication, and there seems to be a number of reasons for this. To start with, we tend to visit our doctors when we are suffering. Sometimes we know something is wrong, but in general we only make an appointment to see a doctor when the ailment or condition discomforts us in some way - a good example of this is high blood pressure, it’s an asymptomatic condition which requires daily medication, but we have a bad tendency to forget to take our pills simply because we don’t feel ill.

In these circumstances we will treat our condition until the discomfort goes away and then stop, even if we haven’t finished all the medication we’ve been given. The same is true for acne. I’ve mentioned in a number of articles that you need to treat your acne every day if you want to (i) Control your acne (ii) Manage your acne long-term and prevent it coming back.

The other main reason patients give for not finishing their acne treatment is that the acne treatment they have chosen or been prescribed just isn’t working. This can cause some concern for health care professionals if enough time hasn’t been given for the treatment to work, but if the patient has used their acne cream for 4 - 6 weeks with little response then it is probably time for a change.

As I’ve said in previous articles, Proactive Acne Solution will not treat everyone successfully, no medication will. If you’ve just spent $40 - $60 on an acne treatment and it isn’t working you are rightly going to feel a little hacked off.

The guys at Proactive Solutions have given this issue a lot thought and have introduced a money-back guarantee if you decide that their proactive acne treatment isn’t for you. If you’ve tried their creams for 60 days and you are in any way unhappy with the outcome, all you need do is send back the bottle (even if they’re empty) with your original receipt and ask for a full refund - In effect a free trial, so what have you got to lose?
