Proactive Acne Cream - Is It Right For You?

Written by PAC on May 15, 2008 – 7:51 pm -

If you read in a newspaper or magazine, or anywhere on the Internet for that matter, about an acne treatment that is effective for 100% of the patients who use it, I would advise you to take that article or advertisement with large a grain of salt.

Why? For the simple reason that we are all individuals…… we all look different, we all think different, and surprise surprise we all react differently to different medication.

That’s not to say there are not medicines available that will work for most of the people who take them, but as far as I’m aware, there isn’t one single clinical trial that shows a medicine as having a 100% success rate - and I’m talking about all conditions or diseases, not just acne. In a lot of cases, a 65% success rate is thought of as being very good - if you know any doctors, ask them, and I’m sure they will confirm that statistic.

Proactive Acne Cream will not work for everyone who tries it. However, it does have an excellent success rate of around 85% for mild to moderate acne, but if you want to become part of that statistic, the most important thing you will have to do is stick to the program. In a previous article 3 Steps To Acne Free Skin I refer to the fact that you have to be persistent when treating your acne - if you are persistent, you will see results - If you don’t think you will be, I would suggest you save your money.

How long does Proactive Acne Treatment take to start working?

On average, you should start to see results within about 4 weeks, but if we refer back to what we discussed above, about us all being different, you won’t be surprised to hear that some people get results much sooner, while others need a little longer.

I think at this point, it’s important to mention what your realistic expectations should be.

Whatever acne medication you decide to use, you are not going to wake up suddenly one morning and find that your acne has disappeared - unfortunately acne doesn’t behave like that. The journey towards clear skin is a gradual one, so you cannot expect instant results. The fact is, that you see yourself in the mirror most days, so you might not notice the small subtle changes your acne has undergone, in fact, you might find that it’s others who will notice your skin clearing much more than you will, especially if you haven’t bumped into them for a few days.

————————————————–

Once you start to see the improvements for yourself, the motivation to carry on treatment won’t be an issue. Many people take three months or more before they consider their skin to be ‘normal’ - and when you reach this stage you will need to continue with the treatment to ensure your acne stays away. Continuing to treat healthy skin can become a real chore, because “hey why would I carry on treating something that isn’t there any more?” - from experience I’ve met many people who forget or can’t be bothered to medicate every day after their skin is clear, and the majority of these manage to stay acne-free by medicating maybe just 3 or 4 times a week.

3 Steps To Acne Free Skin

Written by PAC on May 15, 2008 – 2:14 pm -

The advice you are about to read is suitable for, and will benefit the vast majority of acne suffers, irrespective of which medication you choose, whether that’s Proactive Acne Cream, or any other acne medication.

There are just 3 simple steps you need to follow, that will almost guarantee that you can clear your acne (I say almost, because no single treatment will work for everyone). However, sticking to these steps will give you the best opportunity you will ever have to achieve acne free skin.

Let me repeat that - There Are Just 3 Simple Steps.

It’s not rocket science, but you will need to be persistent. Virtually all of the failures I’ve seen are because the person has lost faith in the steps after the first week or so - Most folks will need 4 to 8 weeks to get the maximum benefit, others will need a little longer, but many will start to notice a difference after the second week. OK, here’s what you need to do:

  • Cleanse
  • Medicate
  • Moisturize

Step 1 - How to cleanse your face properly.

  • Splash warm water onto all the areas that are affected by acne - face, neck, chest, etc…
  • If you are using an acne cleansing wash or an acne soap, make some lather in your hands and wash the affected areas gently using only your hands - don’t spend too long over this, you don’t want to irritate your skin.
  • Rinse off with warm water and very gently pat your face dry - do not rub your face dry, as this can also irritate your skin.
  • Let your skin dry completely before you medicate (normally takes about 5 minutes).

Step 2 - How To Medicate Properly.

  • Make sure your hands are clean and dry.
  • Squeeze the required amount of medication (Always follow the manufacturer’s advice here) onto one finger, and use another finger on your other hand to very gently spread it on to the affected areas.
  • Without applying any pressure to the face, work the medication until it is virtually all absorbed.
  • Golden Rule - always be very gentle, you want to minimize skin irritation at all times.

Step 3 - How To Moisturize Properly.

  • Make sure your hands are clean and dry.
  • Squirt the moisturizer onto the ends of your fingertips and pat it gently onto your face.
  • As you did with the medication, very gently work the moisturizer into the skin.
  • The same golden rule applies when you are moisturizing, avoid irritating the skin by rubbing.

Were you expecting more than that?…… I’m sorry, but it doesn’t get any more complicated!

Unfortunately the 3 steps will not clear your acne overnight, but then again, neither will any other treatment regimen. If you can follow these 3 steps twice a day every day, I’m certain that you will start to notice significant results sooner rather than later. I can guarantee that at some stage over the next few weeks you will feel like giving up, but remember what I said about being persistent - it will be well worth the effort.
